Don Bosco believes that young people are capable of encountering God and His love can give meaning to one’s life. Today, the Salesians of Don Bosco continue their founder’s legacy of introducing spirituality and prayer into the lives of youth.

At the heart of Salesian Spirituality is deep friendship with Jesus. When a young person chooses Jesus as his friend, it manifests itself in two different ways: prayer and loving actions performed in daily life. He begins to see God as a loving and saving Father who has at the heart the good of every individual.

The Salesian Prayer is characterized by youthfulness and simplicity that renews and challenges the heart toward change. It is attentive to the presence of God that gives room to optimism towards life’s difficulties and celebrating it in scripture and sacraments. The young person’s prayer eventually leads to action for the transformation of the world in responsible service.

Retreat Houses are places that give everyone, especially the youth, guidance and direction throughout their various stages in life. These centers carry out thoughtfully-designed formation programs made practical by group interaction that promote more integrated human and Christian growth.

By way of their centers and works, the Salesians run a program of evangelization aimed at promoting healthy human and spiritual formation adapted to young people’s particular situation and their needs. Salesian centers provide educational and evangelical answers to the challenges of youth and their most felt needs.

Salesian Campus Ministry offers a unique for of service of bringing Christ to the young students in their own schools or communities through educational activities and formative instruction on the Faith.
